WASHINGTON, D.C. – This past week Pennsylvania Senators Bob Casey (D- PA) and John Fetterman (D- PA) hosted an exhibit at the US Capitol, honoring the eleven lives lost at the Pittsburgh Tree of Life Synagogue attack in 2018.
The exhibit displayed artifacts like a prayerbook with a bullet hole in it as well as depicting the community’s response to the tragedy and the next phase of the congregation’s story. Back in 2018, eleven worshipers were killed in a shooting at the synagogue. The attack is one of the deadliest antisemitic attacks in US history. Senator Casey said in part: “with reports of antisemitism at an all-time high in this country, this exhibit serves as an important reminder of that the dark, cold evil of antisemitism is no match for the bright light of education that inspires compassionate communities.”
