Following Netanyahu’s Rejection of Palestinian Nation, Congressional Democrats Support Two-State Solution

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Some Senate democrats are pushing for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine to end the conflict and prevent future conflicts.

Senator Brian Schatz (D- HI) said nearly 50 of his Senate colleagues want to include an amendment into the supplemental spending package which includes money for border security, Ukraine, Taiwan and Israel. The amendment supports reiterating that US policy favors a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine. Israel’s Prime Minister recently rejected the idea of creating an independent Palestinian nation. The Hawaii Senator said the Prime Minister’s rejection of a two-state solution advanced him and his colleagues to push for this amendment. According to the Senator, no Republicans have signed on to support this amendment.
