Rip Current Statement
San Juan and Vicinity; Northeast; North Central; Northwest; Culebra; St Croix
What: Life-threatening rip currents due to breaking waves of 6 to 8 feet. Where: In Puerto Rico, north-facing beaches of Puerto Rico, and Culebra. In the Virgin Islands, east-facing beaches of St. Croix. When: Through at least late Thursday night. Impacts: Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water, where it becomes difficult to return to safety.
